BCAC/Kisik Aerial Survey Practicum Experience
BCAC and BCIT are working together to gather existing
information from several sources that will provide BCAC and its members with a better understanding of the economic and employment impact of aviation and aerospace in BC.
BCAC and BCAC Corporate Member KÎSIK Aerial Survey partnered to host two BCIT practicum students. Jisun and Lena are working towards their Airport Operations diploma from BCIT and now have completed their final practicum. The students were bright, energized, and eager to help out. Both students brought a collection of diverse skills that came in handy for completing the tasks set out for them; many of which were learnt from the BCIT Airport Operations program. However, classroom skills cannot account for the energy and joy that these two ladies brought to the workplace. The knowledge which can be passed down to students through a practicum placement is invaluable and it is imperative for the industry to give back to the future generations; which is exactly what BCAC and KÎSIK Aerial Survey have done. As Cheryl Cahill (Airport Operations Chief Instructor) states, “the practicum is such an integral part of the learning experience.” KÎSIK Aerial Survey and BCAC both look forward to continuing their relationship with BCIT and hosting practicum students in the near future.
